Dr. Brownstein's book is a must read for everyone - whether you or someone you know is suffering from a diagnosed or suspected thyroid disorder. I have read multiple books on this topic. And Dr. Brownstein added new insights that will help me overcome my own thyroid disorder

Eye Opener for Thyroid Disorders July 8, 2014
Reviewer: Deb Weiland from North Platte, NE United States
One of my sisters and I suffer from Hashimoto's thyroiditis and leaky gut syndrome.  This book was a real eye opener!  For myself in particular the information on iodine deficiencies made a big difference, as I have a goiter ,as well. My ENT specialist had just told me to take an iodine supplement, but had no recommendation on amount.  Your book helped me to try a larger dosage than I had started taking.  It has  made a big difference in my energy level!

This is an excellent book, and is an easy read. There are numerous actual cases and examples that help explain the main points of the chapters. It is an awesome information resource that serves as a great companion to the iodine book I already have.  I highly recommend this book!!!!

This Book has helped me so much!! April 19, 2014

I am thrilled that I found this website and book!! I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's 15 years ago and have not felt good since! I have started vitamins that Dr. Brownstein recommends, I have pretty fingernails again!! I haven't had pretty fingernails in 10+ years!! Ialso just saw my doctor and was switched to Armour Thyroid after being on Synthroid 15 years... Hopefully will see a difference soon. have only been on Armour 3 days.. Thank you Dr. Brownstein for taking time to help those of us that suffer from this miserable problem.

Very convincing January 14, 2014
Reviewer: Myriam from United Kingdom
Makes an awful lot of sense and I'm surprised to see that certain seemingly unrelated complaints I have (from serious mastalgia to cold feet, tiredness, bloating, water retention, PMS) all seem to add up under the hypothyroid theory. Interesting ATP was mentioned, because that's quite a technical thing, and I was specifically treated for mitochondrial damage and ATP problems - so quite a coincidence.

So it's great knowing all this - now it remains to find a practitioner - probably easy in the US, not so in England. Wish there were some international referrals, the book gives only US contacts.

Otherwise, I found the style very good, easy to understand but still scientifically thorough, and cogent throughout. It was slightly repetitive, as each section seemed designed to stand on its own as an article.
